Feeding our community: Local food success stories

The campaign against hunger on Martha’s Vineyard has mobilized chefs, business owners, social service agencies and community activists to focus on the problem of getting food to all the Islanders who need it. Join the LLHF community discussion on how island organizations are tackling this problem , meet key players as they share their challenges and successes, and find out how you can help accessibility to fresh food on our island.  Special guests include Jessie Damroth, Director of the MV Boys & Girls Club, Margaret Hannemann, Director of the Island Food Pantry and Noli Taylor, Program Leader of Island Grown Schools. Moderated by Rebecca Haag, Director of Island Grown Initiative.

‘Mini Guides’ to practical, traditional skills

Living Local Harvest Festival’s new ‘Mini Guides’ series is hosted by talented locals who have mastered lost arts that (not that long ago) used to be a part of everyday life from: how to filet a fish, build a herb garden for year round joy, go zero waste at home, deer wrestling (just kidding), fermentation to seed saving (and more!). Come gather tips and ideas of how we can all get back to basics – leading a more sustainable, self-reliant lifestyle.
