Founded in 1965, Vineyard Conservation Society / VCS is the Island’s only conservation organization whose mission includes advocacy and public education, as well as resource protection.
In the years ahead, they believe that the health of our Island and its waters will increasingly depend on an informed and mobilized public. That’s why VCS partners with government and civic groups whenever possible, to promote community action in defense of a viable Vineyard environment and future.
Conservation today is about more than land protection. At VCS, they believe in a broad definition of environmental stewardship: they are always prepared to fight inappropriate development, but also advocate for pro-active solutions in all areas of environmental concern.
